I'm uncertain as to why there are so many terrible reviews of this place. The location of the staff is on the first floor to the left of the huge and ancient front door near the beautiful garden. The staff is very friendly and happy to help. You will need to message them to give them your ETA, and they send you directions. If you are good at following directions, this gem of a hotel is beautiful, ancient, and a must to experience near all of the attractions of Florence. The rooms are huge, and the scenery is one hundred percent ancient. Yes, you will need to climb stairs to get to the room, but the walk to the room will be epic and historic in this old hotel. I spent a couple of days in Spring with my husband here, we plan to return in the fall of 2026. There are two excellent restaurants next door from the hotel to choose from that were five stars. I highly recommend this location for a beautiful and pleasant stay.
